My grandmother bravely let me borrow her film camera and VHS camcorder to play with when I was a little girl, so I roamed my family's farm taking pictures and videoing everything from huckleberry bushes to our pet monkeys (Yes, I'm being totally serious!). I am grateful to have lived in a home where I was encouraged to both honor and preserve every beautiful thing I see.
My childhood consisted of never-ending adventures on the farm, chasing my younger siblings across our family garden and through chilly creeks. My life has always consisted of a non-material existence in our little house on the Arkansas prairie. This lifestyle ultimately shaped my core values and what I believe to be the most important thing in life: the love I share with my family and friends. Deep, authentic connection is what I treasure most in the world.
What I care about are the simple things in life: long walks through the woods, greeting the sun as it rises with a giant cup of coffee, growing plants in every corner of my home, dancing to Mel Tormé with my sweet sons, and belly laughing when my boys inevitably say something silly. These fragments of our lives stitch each day together. They aren’t staged and are almost always unplanned–and that is what makes each story extraordinary.
My Rhythm and my rhyme
I have always been one of those people who took the "road less traveled," and I have so much admiration for those who march to beat of their own drum. Life doesn't come with a blueprint, and I think there is so much freedom in that. I enjoy working with people who want to create something special with me. What does that look like exactly? I'm sure you have a ton of questions, and I am ready to answer them all! Let me tell you a little more about how I work so you can see if we are a good fit.
I approach each session with the same care and thoughtfulness that I give the ones I love the most when taking their pictures. The connection you share with your loved ones is unique, which is why I shoot to capture the natural ways in which you interact and love one another. The relationships we share with our loved ones are unique, so why wouldn't your session be?
